About Us

The Bharathiya Hindu International Malayalee Association , popularly known as BHIMA SA is a non-profitable incorporated organisation established in 2013. The main aim of BHIMA SA is to foster Hindu faith and understand its scriptures while also promoting pluralism, social cohesion, friendship and religious harmony among the community. We now embrace over 120 families in addition to many others outside the BHIMA SA patronage form part of Indian cultural events that we conduct on various occasions such Onam, Deepawali, Attukal Pongala, Mandala Pooja to name but a few. People regardless of their religion are being encouraged and welcomed to be a part of BHIMA SA. We also participate in Blood donation, Charity to the needy, conduct Yoga training and Purana Classes.

The purpose of the association is to be the house of learning to promote and practice ideologies of Hinduism and its religious practices through social interaction, education and teaching.

BHIMA is an association for every Adelaide Hindu offering regular opportunities to understand the faith and the teachings of the Vedic scriptures as well as socio-cultural association in the Kerala tradition that promotes learning and practice of various traditional art forms which could potentially develop our children’s spiritual well being, cultural upbringing, openness, respect and tolerance .

The association strives to conduct religious, spiritual, educational, social and cultural activities for the benefit of the Hindu Community and the broader interested public.

Bringing closer relationship amongst Hindu families and strengthen their spiritual life and well-being .  Learning and propagating the cultural and customary practices of Malayalees among members.  Organizing  and supporting cultural and group activities with the aim of nurturing the age old art expressions that flourished in and around Kerala.  Helping and supporting new families moving to South Australia . Organize gatherings in temple for monthly Bhajans and encouraging members to connect with each other. Promoting Hindu values, philosophy, Malayalam language and literature, musical, educational, cultural events and festivals of Keralites.

In addition to emphasizing Hindu culture, educating children and community welfare within the framework of Hinduism and with God’s blessings we aim to fulfill our dream of preserving and imparting our traditional values and virtues.
