
KARIKIDAKA VAVU BALI
Bhima proudly conducting Karkidaka Vavu Bali every year. Karkidaka Vavu Bali is an annual ritual observed by Sanatanadharma followers ( Hindus) all over the world. Who offer obeisance to their forefathers (ancestors) on the no moon day in the malayalam month of Karkidakam, Bhadra(July /August).
The belief is that those who are making offerings to their forefathers (ancestors) on this day receive blessings, even if they do not know the exact date and star of their dear once death. It is also a belief that conducting the ‘vavu Bali’ will bring good luck and prosperity. Karkidaka Vavu Bali is a traditional ritual of Sanatana dharma(Hindus), to honour our dead forefathers (ancestors).
It is said that the ‘Bali’ or tribute ensures that the departed soul is granted eternal peace. The women, men and children offer Bali to pay homage to their forefathers and liberate their souls. Those performing the ceremony must past the before it and eat only food made from rice on the day (pure vegetarian). We are conducting this event at Shri Ganasha Temple under the instruction and guidance of temple priest. Every year more than 60 families attended the function. we welcome all devotees, all sanatana Dharma followers (those who would like to offer Vavu Bali ( Tharpanam)in this ritual ceremony in the next years as well.
